Cloud accounting and payroll provider Xero has expanded its payroll service into Ohio and Arizona.

With millions of workers employed by small businesses in Ohio and Arizona, Xero’s expanded payroll service makes it easier to pay employees, while managing business finances, in one seamless, end-to-end business management platform. Hosting this information in the cloud subsequently allows small business owners real-time access to their finances, providing the information they need to make smarter, more informed business decisions.

Amy Vetter, Vice President of Education and Head of Accounting U.S. at Xero, explained that for accountants, having payroll hosted within Xero’s accounting platform will go a long way in streamlining customer management, allowing accountants more time to focus on serving their clients as a trusted advisor.

From a small business perspective, Vetter, who is also founder of DRISHTIQ Yoga, a small business in Cincinnati, noted that, “As a small business owner, I’m part business executive, front desk clerk, HR manager and CFO, among a variety of other roles. Time is a luxury not afforded to small business owners and the ability to have everything in one place, including payroll, gives me the flexibility I need to run my business.”

As part of Xero’s payroll offering, employers can pay employees through direct deposit or with instant paychecks. Timesheets are included at no extra cost and employees are also provided with their own app, through which they can enter their timesheets, view time off and pay history.

Employers have access to detailed reports to keep track of payroll information. To help them stay informed of key payroll tax deadlines, Xero calculates relevant business days and displays both the File By and Due By dates. Employers will also receive email reminders to ensure they don’t miss filing deadlines.

With more than 700,000 subscribers now using Xero, building out payroll functionality across the U.S. is a top priority. With the addition of Arizona and Ohio, Xero now serves the payroll needs of small businesses in 24 states, including the largest: California, Texas and New York.

“With extended service in Ohio and Arizona, we’re doubling down on our commitment to American small business owners,” said Russ Fujioka, President of Xero Americas.

“We’re thrilled to be able to serve as a resource to small business owners in the these states as they look to not only manage, but grow, their business.”
